Flying Objects in Jersey, Canucks Statement Win, and Remembering Börje Salming

The hockey world is mourning the loss of one of the game’s greats, Börje Salming. Ray & Dregs talk the immense legacy of the Swede who broke barriers as one of the first European stars of the game. Salming’s Maple Leafs legacy, and his growth of the game in his native Sweden are discussed in paying homage to ’The King’

Headlines kicks off with the strange Leafs vs. Devils game, and New Jersey fans littering the ice with flying objects. Ray recounts his junior days and the tough atmospheres he faced. Another former Soo Greyhound, Connor Timmins, is added to the  Leafs roster as GM Kyle Dubas goes back to his roots for a depth add. Ryan Reaves effectiveness is discussed as the veteran enforcer is moved to the Minnesota Wild.

A big win over the defending champs will give the Vancouver Canucks a bit of breathing room with fans, but the direction of the team still remains uncertain. Dregs states that Canucks captain Bo Horvat is not being shopped, but trade-talks continue to circulate as the pending-UFA continues a torrid goal-scoring pace.

Kris Abbott joins the show to talk football, both European and American. Canada’s loss to Belgium at the World Cup, the odds of scoring vs. Croatia, and the many player prop bets offered by Betano are discussed. NFL picks of the week are made and the pod is once again betting on a non-MVP performance from Aaron Rodgers and the Packers vs. the Eagles.

Ask R+D brings exciting news from the Ray and Dregs Hockey Podcast! New York Rangers ‘kid line’ success, the guys’ PGA ‘hoop dreams’, and a granular analysis of Chicken Parms wrap-up another episode of the pod!
